Introduction
Welcome to my ePortfolio!
My professional aspiration is to make a more accessible library especially in the area of Special and Area Studies Collections. Specifically, my goal is to ensure diverse communities have access to rare materials across various digital platforms. As a metadata specialist, it’s my responsibility to remove any barriers of access so that all patrons, regardless of geographic location or language, can have equal access to University of Florida Digital Collections (UFDC). I have received training in NACO authority work, original cataloging for manuscripts and monographs in various languages, rule building for machine assisted indexing, creating and visualizing metadata for UFDC, and showcasing materials via online exhibits. I invite you to navigate through my ePortfolio, specifically Goal III: Knowledge Representation, and open the various artifacts that illustrate my experience in utilizing ALMA, OCLC Connexion, NACO Authority, RDA, Library of Congress Classification schedules, DCRM (Mss), DACS, English and Spanish-language subject authorities (such as lcsh, aat, rbms, fast, qlsp, bidex, abne, and embne), SobekCM content management system, and data visualization software.
